The illustrated biography of Princess Ira von Fürstenberg, written by Nicholas Foulkes and published by HarperCollins UK, is a title I have had the incredible opportunity to work on for well over a year, amassing over 4000 photographs during the research stage, circa 300 of which made the final cut. The process involved visiting image archives and looking through their transparencies, finding photographs that have not been previously digitised, as well as many hours spent examining Vogue's archives from the 1960s and 1970s and getting in touch with numerous European film libraries. During the picture editing stages I worked closely with the book editors and the talented Jon Allan from TwoSheds Design agency.
The cover photo of the book is by Irving Penn, taken for Vogue, and the book features photographs by Helmut Newton, Cecil Beaton, Elisabetta Catalano, Elio Sorci, Bokelberg and Francis Goodman.
